Protesters during Raichur city bandh demanding internal reservation in government jobs

Raichur city witnessed a widespread shutdown as several organizations called for a bandh demanding the implementation of internal reservation for Scheduled Caste communities in government job recruitment. Protesters gathered at key locations across the city, urging the state government to ensure fair representation in upcoming government appointments. Many markets and business establishments remained closed while demonstrations were held in different parts of the city.

The protest was linked to concerns over the recruitment of thousands of government posts, with activists claiming that without proper internal reservation policies certain communities may not receive adequate opportunities. Demonstrators also staged road blockades and rallies, leading to disruptions in transport services and daily activities in Raichur. Authorities deployed police personnel across sensitive areas to maintain law and order during the bandh.
